Does God exist?
On a Friday at college, I and my whole class must have had a huge discussion about religion & God and the big bang theory. After this discussion I started thinking to myself does god really exist? I don’t know why but every time I have these discussions with people I start to question my faith. So let’s discuss about the existence of God.
Okay so does God exist, well it’s a difficult question. Why I say it’s difficult is because we have science and science has explained to us how the universe and the earth came into being through the big bang. Science has explained to us how humans came into being through evolution. Science is factual. But on the other hand I could say God exist because if we look around us, everything in this world has a cause and anything caused must be caused by something else (something greater). Therefore the universe as an example must have been cause and only God could be the cause of the universe. For that reason God must exist.
I could also say the universe seems to be designed because the way the universe works according to scientific laws like gravity and how the big bang worked with the laws of science to produce a universe of order. So this can lead people to believe God exist because anything designed, will always have a designer. So the universe was designed and the only possible designer is God, so God must exist.
Some simple but interesting answers to our question “does God exist?”
Now let’s come up with deeper answers.
The percentage of the world population who belong to a religion is around 80 per cent. Most religions share some traits such as belief in God, life after death, Praying to God & worshiping God. These religions are trying to contact a being greater than humans, known as God. So it would be difficult to believe about 80% of the world population is wrong about God. But at the same time it doesn’t mean about 80% of the world population is correct, remember when everyone believed the world was flat. More than half of the world population believed the world was flat.
On the other hand they are people who don’t believe in God existence because of the Evil and suffering in the world, which leads people to become agnostics or atheists.
Some evil such as theft & wars are moral evil, actions done by humans. But people who die or suffer from earthquakes like the estimated 12,000 people who are trapped or died in countless numbers in mounds of concrete, steel and earth in china is known as natural evil, the acts of God.So if God was benevolent (all good/loving) he would get rid of such evil or prevent them and If God was omnipotent (all powerful) he could stop such evil with no problem but since natural evil still exist, more and more people will start to believe God does not exist.
Personally I certainly do not believe that God would make humans only to make natural evil and kill them. No, I believe natural evil as a test. To test the people’s faith in God, like in China. Some people would have lost their children and their family members and all their properties to the earthquake but still believe in God while others survivors would doubt God’s existences and blame him for their misfortunes.
Those who continue to believe in god despite their misfortunes would be rewarded by God.
Anyway let’s continue our discussion about “does God exist?”
Let’s talk about prayers, people pray and some may feel the presence of God as they pray. But what happens if you do not feel the presences of God when you pray, does it mean God doesn’t exist? Now what is the presence of God, how do we know if we can feel it.
Well how do we know it isn’t our hormones playing up? It’s even worst when you can’t feel the presence of God and your Prayers are unanswered. You must know that a Prayer is a way of contacting God. If there is no contact, it might mean there is no one there.
Religious experience has gain many people to believe in the existence of God because Religious experience is how people come into direct contact with God. Experiencing a miracle, any event that seems to break a law of science and the only explanation for which seems to be God. For example I drank cement and somehow survived. lol not funny but you get the miracle example. Even having your prayers answered. For example someone prays for God to help them out of a problem and the problem disappears.
It is because of a Religious experience I became closer to God and accept Jesus as my savior.I have to go now, so let’s continue this discussion later.
Part 2 of “does God exist?” Coming Sooooon

Welcome to Xanga
I believe in the sun even when it isn't shining or if it is hidden behind the clouds......
I believe I have a brain even though I have never seen it.
I believe in God by faith alone.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things not seen.
Faith is believing in God, taking Him at His Word and believing in His promises.
I did not see Jesus on the cross suffering for my sin. But I believe He did. If the Bible is the true Word of God then everything in it is truth. The Disciples were eye-witnesses to His death and ressurrection. It was written down for those who would believe on Jesus after these things. It was preserved and kept for us. Jesus prayed for us who would believe without seeing Him.
Blessed are those who do not see and yet believe.
God so loved us that He sent His only Son into the world as a sacrifice to pay for sin. To redeem us, to reconcile us, to save us, to restore the fellowship that was lost as a result of our sin. It is His desire to have a relationship with His children and He went to the greatest lengths to do it.
It speaks of His great love for us. How do I personally know there is a God?
He has revealed Himself to me....
He pulled me out of darkness
He brought me into His light
He made me brand new
He is alive........
I am forever thankful.
It's really not about religion or denomination.
It's about a relationship.
How do you know that you have a relationship with someone?
You KNOW them and they KNOW you. It is a 2 way thing. That is what prayer is. Communicating with God and He in turn communicates with us.
HE HEARS US!!! He responds to the sound of our voice!! He answers from on high! What a priviledge. To have the God of the universe respond to our cries!!
The Lord has proved His Word to me on so many occassions. I have walked through trials that would have destroyed me if it wasn't for His grace and sustaining power. He has upheld me.
There have been times when my prayers have been unanswered. It does not mean that there is not a God. He is God and I am not. He knows what I need more than I do.I am trusting in His care even if I don't understand circumstances.
He is a good Father!
I am so happy He loves us!!
Wow, good post! I just took a Christian philosophy course this past fall semester, and it addressed many of the things you were mentioning here...cool to hear it again. Oh, and welcome to xanga! :)

Welcome to Xanga. I look forward to your future posts. Regarding littlelambhome's comments - excellent. I was thinking on the same lines, that it really wasn't an experience for me, it is faith - faith that I must admit is really a gift from Him more than it is something I have done.
Welcome!!!!
I didn't know you had a xanga Seb. If it wasn't for noticing on DA, I wouldn't have known. BTW, this is KHGIRL from TP. ^-^
